No, gay really shouldn’t be a synonym for stupid- but words are only hurtful when you give them power.
You can tell them why it’s wrong, why it’s just plain rude, but people are people. Some will understand and change their ways, but others won’t give a fuck. Don’t let it get to you, it really isn’t worth it.
